How many cycles/s can I expect with my computer or mining rig?

If you are considering mining Merit with your hardware and you have no idea what your cycles/s would be, I collected some data from different miners to create small overview what you can expect. If you know your cycles/s you can use Calculator on this page to count how many Merits you will earn a day.

It's possible to mine Merit with both, CPU and GPU. GPU mining is more effective, but not as much as in most of other coins. You can reach about 15 times better results with high-end gaming GPU than high-end desktop CPU and around 8 times better results comparing high-end desktop CPU with similar price-level GPU. Data for graphic cards may vary because of different mining software, overclocking settings, used OS and other components. Currently only nVidia cards with latest drivers and at least 2 GB of memory are supported.

Be extremely careful when using mining rigs with multiple GPUs. Mining needs huge CPU support even when it's mining only on GPU. Your CPU might become overloaded and without proper cooling it might cause even restarting your computer. One low-end CPU is able to cover 1 or 2 GPU cards at full speed. Using some high-end CPU with multiple cores (like i7 or high-end Ryzens) you will be able to use around 6 cards at full speed. It's possible to mine on more cards even with slow CPU, but your cycles/s can be decreased by tens of percents.

If you're getting lower results than are results in table, don't hesitate to ask in #mining channel in Merit Discord group. Community members will surely try to help with your configuration. Also if you experienced better results, share with others how did you achieve that!
